Alec Baldwin is Millard Fillmore

Maybe that explains why the anti-immigration American Party (aka the Know-Nothings) endorsed Fillmore for president in 1856.  Perhaps they were hoping he would tell prospective immigrants that admission to the USA was for closers.

A group of crows is called a “Murder of Crows,” but it seems excessive to label a pair of them an “Attempted Murder.”  I’ve suggested that such a term should be reserved for groups of five or six crows, while smaller groups should be called Aggravated Assaults of Malicious Woundings.
On the topic of collective nouns, here’s a chart that appeared on Wondermark a few years ago.  Most of the terms listed there can be found in the dictionary, though I suspect David Malki invented some of them.

I always thought it was a shame that Star Trek: The Next Generation had “Star Trek” in its title.  It’s as if Law and Order were called The Further Adventures of the Lone Ranger, and its creators felt obligated to drag out references to The Lone Ranger in every episode.  Anyway, this image is pretty awesome.

I’ve long wished that something like this existed as a successor to the #ViewMaster.  I don’t know enough about this product to recommend it, but I hope it is worthwhile.
dotist:

AN IMAGINARY MUSEUM
- Commonplace Studio

The imaginary Museum consists of a digitally hacked View-Master and (RFID enabled) paper discs. Instead of stereoscopic sightseeing through diapositives with an original View-Master, these Imaginary Museum discs activate digital content from the web to be viewed though two high resolution micro screens inside the viewer.
